I am currently still on maternity leave for my Mat work classes, but started teaching on the reformer again in Dublin’s newest and definitely homiest Reformer studio, the beautiful and tranquil Form School opened by Aoife and Gordon D’Arcy! Check the studio website, where you can book classes and get a feel for what you can expect. Aoife and Gordon opened the studio out of their love for Pilates on the reformer – and you can see it in every detail! I am teaching Monday evening and Tuesday, Friday and Saturday morning with some more classes added from March – after I come back from my Somatic Movement Coach training with Martha Peterson in Germany. Private sessions are available too outside the schedule, you can either check with me about times or contact Aoife directly. Why not book a private class on a Saturday morning at 11am? You’ll feel refreshed and ready for the rest of the day without having to get up too early 🙂
As I will be training to qualify as a Somatic Movement Coach beginning of March in my hometown in Germany (and show off our beautiful new family addition), Mat classes will start back after St Patrick’s day (Tuesday 6pm Grantham House is fully booked, other dates will be added soon).
With the Somatic Movement training, I hope to offer you a gentle way of taking back control over your body when back pain, tight shoulders and co are in full swing. A method of pain management you can use to keep your movement fluid and your muscles supple – and the best thing is it only takes a few minutes daily to feel better! After I took an introduction course with Tanya Fitzpatrick from Align Somatics last year, I now have the opportunity to train with Martha Peterson, an internationally teaching Somatic Movement Educator from the USA. Although I already use a more somatic approach for Pilates, I am very excited to immerse myself in more specific training this year!
I am currently organizing the spaces and times for Mat work, so if you were a regular in my classes, let me know your preferred times again. I also want to finally offer small group lunchtime classes with a mix of Somatic Movement and Pilates in town – targeting tired shoulders and necks and waking up your centre!
