Besides rhythmically tapping on the ribcage as a manual technique, which is used for centuries for respiratory issues, releasing tension in the muscles around the ribcage is vital to be able to take a deeper breath.
Here, Martha is demonstrating a way of approaching your breath with hands on feedback. Try it out and let me know how you feel! Always move within your comfortable range of motion only, don’t push into pain (or as one of my clients so wonderfully says, don’t be so ambitious to sense something familiar).
